Signing Up for YAIL
THE YAIL PROGRAM
Candidates are sponsored by a local Rotary Club, with a mix of males females, Canadians & Americans. We typically have a broad range of personalities and many different types of leaders coming from academics, sports, arts or other areas of interest within their community.
There are a variety of leadership styles among the participants. There are those who lead by their behavior and those who lead using their verbal skills. There are also participants that don’t believe they are leaders, but they learn that they can be leaders given the opportunity.
Throughout the YAIL weekend experience, participants will interact and engage with one another through large group activities, small group activities, and speaker sessions. All activities will be led by experienced youth facilitators who are YAIL Alumni and have a passion for empowering young people. All youth facilitators will be supported with guidance from adult Rotarians, in accordance with Rotary guidelines.
If you are interested in participating in YAIL, locate your nearest Rotary Club using the link provided here: Rotary Club Finder, and call or email that Club to get sponsorship.
You can also email us using the form on our Contact Us page.
YAIL is open to the first 65 participants in High School (ages 15 – 17). All costs are paid by the sponsoring Rotary club. There is no cost to participants.
Participating Rotary clubs range from Hope, BC to Everett, WA. If you know a member of your local Rotary Club give them a call and express your interest in attending YAIL. If you do not know anyone, Contact Us and we will do our best to find you a sponsor so you can take advantage of this outstanding event.
Note: Applications, whether by Registrant or Rotary Sponsor, MUST be submitted online. It is imperative that registrants follow the instructions carefully as only ‘COMPLETE’ applications will be eligible for approval by the YAIL committee.
